Centrifugally Stiffened Rotor (CSR) as a model for an AWES?

My eyes aren’t young since.. a while.

I like the round the pole aircraft it is very simple - only elevator and throttle.

I feel tempted to experiment with a “kite” made of a pair of these with a single line in between.. and a attachment at the middle of the line.

The market for “pseudo satellites”, “large towers” implemented as powered kites with up to 1km height could be more rich than wind energy harvesting.

E.G. there are tethered (cable power) surveillance drones with ~50m flying height which sell for >$20k

Here’s another rotary drone,
this time with an actie and passive solution for wing length expansion and retraction in flight

The same rotary drone: Shape changing drone FROW (Foldable Rotary Oragami Wing).

Drones are making spectacular progress. And yet we still can’t make them AWES, even small ones. That needs to change by 2026.
