I’ve been thinking about and trying to figure out what the drag performance of kites like Makani’s or others with onboard generation might look like.
Since rotors spew dirty air on the wings behind them, surely they must create more drag than what is needed to generate power by diminishing wing performance.
I’d love to learn about how to predict this reduction in wing performance as a function of rotor drag or the relationships that exist here.
