Here’s a potential option to develop, for keeping a controller powered, which I don’t remember having been discussed.
Flying a replacement battery up to your controller

This may only be applicable for static lift kites in the near “future” (@dougselsam trigger word warning)

It requires even more advancement before it is applicable for more active kite controllers.

Is there any benefit? is it lighter, less draggy, as reliable, less sharp and dangerous than onboard regen?

For AWE we have the possibility of running up and down the tether which could make life easier. Still this looks a bit too complicated to me.
