Could easily be modified as a lift kite controller…
However… So many improvements to make, especially in the control line handling.

Here is the militarized side of this established concept space-
Maximum payloads sink quite fast, while minimum payloads can soar in modest updrafts, or fly tethered from the ground in modest winds.
Another Hackaday steered parachute landing and recovery system
Too small for you?
How about this rocket recovery one from 2012?
Another Paraglider Controller writeup on Hackaday
Much more involved and with a lot more detail, programming files, design files and stl downloads, and general resource allocated to the project.
Don’t remember having seen the ExactFlat online seam allocator and panel flattening cutter tool… might be handy. https://www.exactflat.com/online
There’s a good drop test from 18000’
and a lot of RC piloting
plus it turns into a paramotor
Weirdly they’re using a ducted fan motor for safety.
Maybe if converted to a tethered controller kite controller the ducted fan hole could realign to apparent wind and house a wee ducted turbine. OK you won’t get a shed load of power from it but if your kites only function is to hold position you don’t need a lot of power. If your kites function is to fly crosswind loops hard … I’ve heard the onboard turbines and power generators often have too much wind and need to dump power
Andre Bandarra has been making. Ore beautiful single skin kites
Here’s a video showing his very neat work flow and testing.
