Kite chaos

Only one of these four kites is too unstable to stay in the air for more than a few seconds. Grouped together, these parachute kites fly in an anarchic fashion. The multiplication of uncontrolled units could be a way for airborne wind energy systems in their simplest expression, while trying to approach scaling. One can imagine power kites, for example of the modified NASA NPW type, flying fast and occasionally colliding while retaining their kinetic energy and speed, and thus their traction that is transmitted to the generator.
