NPW in crosswind flight mode would be something between a static kite and a ram crosswind kite whose L/D ratio is higher (4 instead 2 or 2.5).
It is possible, although subject to verification, that its power would be equal (or slightly superior) to that of the ram kite, thanks to a higher force coefficient and greater consistency in a smaller flight window.
With less tether drag, one can expect the possibility of harnessing higher altitude winds than with ram crosswind kites, to reach, for example, low-level jets, but not as high as the altitude achieved by static kites.
A simplified pod of type Acro-kite and powered by a rat, includes a double winch allowing to lengthen one strand while shorten the other strand at the same time.
