AN INVITATION TO Open-AWE IP POOL

Yes indeed, Tallak, it’s quite possible to “to scale too slow”. The race for megascale AWE knowledge is a race against Climate Endgame tipping points.

It is in part like a sci-fi starship race where the earliest starship to embark may be too primitive and is overtaken by a later more advanced starship and arrives first. Let us hope sufficiently advanced AWE technology is worked out in time to scale very fast.

Funding is proportional to credibility.

Maxim and Langley had ample credibility and funding.

The Wright Bros had the least funding and credibility.

We all know what counted for more- “The Wright Stuff”

Thales, the first great Greek philosopher, voluntarily poor, made a
quick buck in Olive Press Futures, confounding his critics.

Jesus came as a poor man on Earth, but rich in Heaven.

Money does not come first. There will be vast money after AWE is solved.
Until then, may we be grateful for “our daily bread”.

Yeah, thanks daveS, because, again, I recognize his writing style and all the terms and phrases he habitually uses. What I said specifically was that the entire “circular-firing-squad” group of DaveS, JoeF, “Wayne”, and John O., no matter how many “honors” or “credentials” they may attempt to place on one another, have never generated any significant power from any kite or AWE system, despite all their empty bragging. Keyword “Significant”. For example, there was never any doubt that shaking a self-winding watch could wind the watch. A little kid could tell you that. If this were a Cub-Scout project by an 8-year-old, it might be worthy of a “Merit Badge”. Not for a (supposed) adult claiming to be a serious researcher ready to produce TeraWatts! The most novel breakthrough aspect was nobody had ever tried to generate such a small amount of power from the wind before. My opinion was that neither the method employed, nor the amount of power produced, were “significant”, nor is there any indication any project from this particular group ever pointed toward an economical energy solution of any kind. I wouldn’t bother mentioning it, except for the level of incredible claims from this group would suggest vast amounts of power from their efforts. As always in wind energy, talk counts for nothing, Watts count. Watts not words. That should be the slogan, and the only response required whenever Professor Crackpot rears his ugly-yet-amusing head.

How about this innovation for the open AWE IP pool…
Get carbon credits for the energy saved pouring sand.
Bear with… this is genuine
Think of all the kids whose lives are being ruined having to wait to turn over their egg timers. We could save them time and energy by pouring sand from kites.
That’s it
Genius eh
Sand pouring as we all know is a very good indicator of time and power and all chronometers need time to work. Apart from stopped ones twice a day.
So that x the world population
Worth a big Big money
Business innovation IP like this should also be considered for the pool

Very grateful for the honor Doug bestows on the dreaded “Firing Squad”:

Doug: “The most novel breakthrough aspect was nobody had ever tried to generate such a small amount of power from the wind before.”

Exactly. AWE is indeed about new ideas “nobody had ever tried”.

DaveS did not write this:

Ben Franklin, on witnessing the birth of manned (balloon) aviation:

“Of What Use is a Newborn Baby?”

Wubbo still has total credibility, if not any funding, nor electrical output.
Wubbo lives!

But in the initial first post:

So it would not be a question of money…

By the same it would not be about money…
I guess AWEurope is likely grateful to you for your free sharing of the Open-AWE IP POOL.

James (Watt) lives

At the right time, @PierreB; we may indeed do. It’s in us to so do.

So, money comes first according to you @AweEnthusiast?

In your opinion, as you have chosen to (mis)interpret me.
Ecclesiastes7:12 - For wisdom [is] a defence, [and] money [is] a defence: but the excellency of knowledge [is, that] wisdom giveth life to them that have it."

Ecclesiastes9:11 - " I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."

At least this time I can see your personal note @AweEnthusiast , via a quote anyway.

So you share wisdom with AWEurope, but in more or “less favorable terms”.

Everyone shares on their terms. Some derisively. I’d rather do so sincerely.

I see. Your interventions from your initial post confirm what I already knew: people who always talk about “sharing” or “open” have nothing to share but what others have.

All progress has a basis in that which had been. We must of necessity build on the foundation of others. Wise men learn from others.

Ecclesiastes1:9 - The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

It’s humility to acknowledge that ‘if I see beyond others, I just might be standing on the shoulders of some giants’.

Now when @dougselsam 's shoulders hurt, he’ll understand why.

James Watt lives!

@PierreB Only the one on the seat knows how it feels. I certainly am not on the one you just referred to here.

P.S.
May we continue this in private message exchanges, please? We’ve certainly cluttered this topic enough.
Thank you.
Best personal regards.

This is true as also attested by the JAL group who would use any means to attain credibility; “namedropping” titles and experience, stating a “green” drive behind the initiative, and also to some extent present their secret ideas in public to show just how advanced their work behind closed doors is. I think in this respect JAL has a lot to learn other actors in the AWE field.

Though credibility is not easy to gauge for an investor. The next Ponzi scheme trying to lure investor money for a “pump and dump” operation can be difficult or impossible for an unknowing investor to see through. Impossible scaling goals that the people in this forum would spot easily could be a way to hide lack of required project detail.

We can only hope funding finds the best targets as will eventually be proven in @dougselsam’s novel idea for a “virtual flyoff”.

:joy:

And don’t forget, the virtual flyoff is always in effect. So far, it looks like Skysails is winning. I must admit, their numbers do seem impressive, but of course we only hear one side of the story…
Also, remember, some “teams” may not consciously be trying to rip anyone off or stage a scam, but might just be mentally limited as to being able to grasp whether their ideas are truly promising or indeed, whether they even make any sense whatsoever. It’s like when you see certain politicians, and say “Either he is lying through his teeth, or he is totally stupid.” Maybe some combination is also possible.

Yes, compared to other AWES. No, compared to HAWT.
