A bigger single rotor doesn’t make much sense beyond a certain size I think, because you would need to counteract the torque, among other things.
You’d want to make coaxial counter-rotating downwind rotors. The downwind rotors would probably look like the pyramid or daisy systems, because those allow you to have the arms of the two rotors (1) coaxial, (2) close together to couple to a gearbox and the rope drive components, while (3) putting the airfoils further downwind so they won’t interfere with each other so much, and also (4) concentric with each other.
I don’t think this is such an interesting thing to pursue until after you’ve perfected an idea like the pyramid or daisy. Maybe it makes those ideas more interesting, if you feel you need more altitude.
Edit: Or maybe you can cancel (most) of the rotation of the assembly using the rope drive tension and long lever arms, no need for the counter-rotating rotors.
