4-5 kg regular traction measured with a steelyard on the line taut with 4 m/s wind speed while I obtained 3 kg surge traction in crosswind larger figure-eight and for one of the two lines, the other line giving a lower value in the same time, and the total value being irregular and probably lesser.

So it looks like an autorotation with low radius loop could generate more power and using less space than crosswind large figure-eight that are generally envisaged.

It is enough to phase the units to have continuous production, especially since using Low radius loop would allow a smoother power during power reel-in phase than by using figure-eight, because the traction force remains constant thanks to a permanent distance to the center of the figure.

The more regular power generated by low radius loop can be an advantage in addition to the advantage of using less space.

That said in yo-yo mode, given the current art, a pod is required to achieve the control of different phases and of steering without losing altitude if possible. But a pod can be too heavy, while a lighter system aloft can be sufficient thanks to the simplicity of the loop path. Perhaps some device like OKE Precision Winch "Reel and Rotate" Technology with an adaptation for reeling-mode to generate electricity would be suitable.
