Yes, and with a poor result, as if the kite surface blocked the wind to the turbine.
However Joe Faust before applied this concept but with a better conception, using the turbine embedded in the parachute as a shrouded turbine. I don’t know until what level it works, if the parachute is very efficient as a light fairing to increase the turbine efficiency.
I think the HAWT flygen version allows to avoid the complications of the second anchor (for the working loop = rope drive transmission) which is required and has to move according to the wind direction. Perhaps testing it.
Perhaps using a non-tilted turbine embedded in a high drag annular parachutes with a lifter kite, or a tilted turbine embedded in a parasail with an expanded central hole and without lifter kite.
