An interesting video, shows how to make a hydrogen-filled balloon less dangerous by installing a second layer around the balloon, inflated with nitrogen on top and carbon dioxide on the bottom. The experiment seems to show that this extinguishes a flame on contact by suffocating it due to the absence of oxygen when the gas escapes.
Test this as an AWES by including a balloon filled with hydrogen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide while suspending a wind turbine?

I don’t know if a hydrogen-inflated Magnus effect-based balloon with an external layer of nitrogen would be flame resistant enough, but one can think that the thicker the nitrogen layer, the better the protection, knowing that for the pumping mode the lift should be almost neutral, which implies that the hydrogen-inflated envelope could be relatively small.
